Learn the art of being a Barista
Origin Coffee Espresso Bar is a New Zealand Service IQ accredited Barista Training Workplace. Since 2004, both NZQA Barista training and personalised training have been run on site. Successful courses have been run for a magnitude of establishments and clients including, Gateway, various tertiary institutions as well as private groups. This certificate of achievement covers the basics behind the perfect Cafe coffee and offers three unit standards at Level 2 for basic coffee methods and techniques, totaling 8 credits with a Service IQ certificate.
– 17285 – Demonstrate knowledge of commercial espresso coffee equipment and prepare espresso beverages under supervision (L2, C4, V6)
– 17286 – Prepare and present pressed coffee for service (L2, C2, V4)
– 17287 – Prepare and present filtered coffee for service (L2, C2, V4)
This course runs part time over two weeks, with 6 x 3 hour sessions, and covers espresso beverages, pressed and filtered coffee, brewing, machinery, equipment and serving.
